Pistol Training Course - Our Pistol Training Courses will be on a Saturday with the classroom portion in our Gun Shop from 2-6. Make it a date with your special someone or friend! By taking the course with someone you would like to start shooting with, helps reinforce the learning experience for both parties. Many that have done this have a "new" shooting partner and a new hobby the friends or family can enjoy. This course is taught by NRA Certified Instructors for individuals that have little or no firearms shooting experience and individuals that need to review the basics or improve their shooting accuracy. Pistol parts and operation, difference in calibers as well as safety with revolvers and semi-automatics will be covered. Loading, unloading, cocking, uncocking, clearing jams, grip and aim will be taught. 22LR pistols and ammo will be provided with this course to teach you to shoot or to gain additional skills in shooting a semi-automatic pistol. This course will help you learn the functions and features that will help you gain knowledge about your pistol, improve your shooting skills and/or to purchase your first firearm. Firearm safety as well as range etiquette is taught. We also let you shoot a pistol with a silencer on it just for fun. In addition, this class is an excellent preparation for the Concealed Handgun Course. The students that take this course always excel in the CHL Course. Class size is limited to offer plenty of one on one training. It attending with a parent, minimum age is 14. Course length is 4 hours. Cost is $80.00 per person.
Firearms Maintenance Training - This course is a one on one session and involves maintenance training on any personally owned firearm. Whether it is a revolver, semi-automatic pistol, rifle or shotgun, you will learn how to completely take apart your gun and clean it. Maintenance involves cleaning, checking for specific functionality of certain features, and lubricating for best performance. Maintenance Training will increase your knowledge about your firearm and its features. Maintaining a firearm will help keep it working in top notch condition. This course is offered by appointment and is approximately 1 1/2 hours in length. The appropriate cleaning kit is included in the fee. This is a time to ask any questions you have about your firearm. Call and set up your personalized training session. Cost is $70 per session.
Concealed Handgun License Training - We offer training for Texas residents that wish to obtain a Concealed Handgun License (CHL) or renew their license for a very reasonable fee. The full fee for new applicants is $140 and $100 for renewals. Our female instructor, Judith Baker is certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety and provides a complete service that makes this course a one stop shop. She is a former military firearms instructor that has taught hundreds of students over the past eight plus years. She gained in popularity from her reputable teaching and was requested to provide training by military units across the state. In addition to being an experienced firearms trainer she is a Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer that is very knowledgeable about pistols. A multi-media presentation is provided making the class educational, interesting and fun. The classroom is at our Gun Shop (check event calendar for dates and locations) and the range is at the Astro Outdoor Shooting Range. At the end of the CHL course all you need to do is add your check or money order for the license fee and mail it to the Texas Department of Public Safety. This is a very organized, professional and thorough course. You will learn the laws of the State of Texas concerning when to shoot, when not to shoot and the possible ramifications if you do shoot. Renewals are included with the full course to receive all services and learn all of the new laws since they originally received their license. Classroom is on Saturday 9-6:30 and range is 2 1/2-3 hours on Sunday. The following services are included with your fee:

To sign up for a CHL Course, fill out the registration form on the Event Calendar page and mail a personal check for $40.00 as a deposit to the address provided on the form. Designate which class you would like to attend on the date field at the bottom of the form. Rental pistols are available for $45 which includes the ammo and will need to be designated on the registration form. When received, you will be notified that you have a reserved seat in the course.
